Eating With Us We have created a menu that we hope will suit everyone. Our head chef Duncan and his team work hard to create dishes made from fresh local ingredients which are full of flavour and texture at really fantastic prices. All our dishes are cooked to order and therefore you must give it time to cook, at busy times you may be told there will be a slight delay, Its no big deal, just sit back, relax and enjoy, you certainly wont be disappointed. Remember, we don’t do fast food here at the Royal Oak, we do great food as quickly as possible. Food in the Day Food in the Evening Our evening menu is served 6 to 9 Monday trough to Sunday. Here you can enjoy good home cooked food from our bar menu which includes fresh fish battered with our homemade beer batter, Goats Cheese and Caramelised Red Onion Tart, The Royal Oak Lamb and Mint Burger or one of our delicious home made curry. There are many more dishes to choose from which we are sure you will enjoy. In the evening we also have a great specials board with starters, meaty mains, fish, vegetarian and our chefs recommendation. Here you can find local game from Cartmel Valley, our fantastic steak specials, poached salmon topped with fresh prawns and marie-rose sauce, wild mushroom tagliatelli or lamb shank braised in red wine with honey, garlic and rosemary.
